The Broads Authority commissioned Ugly Studios to research the use of new and traditional technology in the delivery of interpretation for a remote and sensitive wildlife area. The project involved investigation, prototyping and evaluation.
Idea
We looked at the site's visitors and specific requirements and produced a smart phone app, an eBook, a leaflet and a display board. We designed an illustrative map with 'points of interest' that worked across print and digital media.
Result
As part of the project we ran an evaluation day with members of the Broads Authority, National Trust, RSPB, Suffolk Wildlife Trust, University of East Anglia, Norwich HEART and others. The interpretation was well received and we published a full report on the findings.
