Brief

WWII Heritage was a European project across four countries with an aim to increase the accessibility and understanding of our shared WWII heritage. A touch-screen was commissioned to educate and excite the public about the mysterious lumps of concrete that dot the Essex landscape.

Idea

Our touch-screen shows visitors photographs of modern day WWII relics, asks questions and gives feedback on the answers. The interactive is social, mildly competitive, informative and fun. The screen contains calls-to-action to visit the sites themselves and leaflets about the landscape trails, produced as part of the project to take away

Result

The screen stands in a pillbox-inspired display case in Chelmsford Museum. Its intriguing and attractive content has made it very popular with a wide range of visitors. The success of this project has helped to cement our positive working relationship with Essex County Council.
