Ugly Studios won a Norfolk County Council competitive tender to deliver a series of interpretation boards across the Gaywood Valley. The project's aim was to enhance green spaces for both wildlife and people. The new interpretation panels needed to encourage villagers to explore their local countryside.
Idea
To do this, we decided that the new panels should look different from more typical village information panels. Our idea was to make them really colourful and fun, presenting some fascinating facts about each village and the wildlife living there.
Result
These panels received a very positive reception on the launch day of the Gaywood Valley Project, in May 2011. The panels were installed at four village sites along the valley.
