Brief

The client wanted to increase visitor numbers to the museum. We won a competitive tender to create an interactive, family-oriented exhibition that made the most of the large temporary exhibition space as well as engaging visitors with objects from around the main galleries.

Idea

The museum commissioned a fantasy story which we turned into a fun, mixed-media series of quests and exhibitions. The quests were trails that used animations, audio, touch-screens, objects and interactives to conjure up an alternative world of myths and monsters!

Result

In the first month museum visitor numbers were up 18.3%, shop sales were up 24% and cafe sales up 34% on the same month from the previous year. The front of house team reported seeing many more teenagers in the museum than usual. There has been significant, positive engagement on social media.
