St John’s is the second largest Catholic cathedral in the UK. To coincide with the opening of their new Heritage Lottery Funded visitor centre, the Narthex, Ugly were commissioned to provide new way-finding and signage across the cathedral site.
By studying possible visitor routes, we identified logical traffic patterns that would enable people to move easily from one spot to another without confusion. At key points we aimed to place clear information through the use of appropriate signage.
Beginning at all of the access points, intuitive, self-navigable, and accessible information now helps visitors find their way, provides an enhanced experience and promotes the overall visual integrity of the site.
What we did
It is their professionalism that has ensured that each element of the project was delivered on time, on budget and always to client satisfaction.
