Ugly Studios were approached by the Norfolk Archaeological Trust to design and install an external panel at Castle Acre Priory, Norfolk. This panel would need to show a range of information, including history, archaeology, conservation/restoration, the natural world, and directional signage.
Our design was carefully put together to balance the wide range of content, and to keep it attractive and engaging. It also needed to be compatible with existing signage at Castle Acre.
In a short timeframe, we delivered and installed the completed panel at Castle Acre. Vandal-resistant and long-lasting, the new panel is sympathetic to the site and its surroundings.
What we did
I found [Ugly Studios] very enlightened and clear on how to present fairly complex archaeological issues to the public on our site at Castle Acre...and the end result was impressive.
