Ugly Studios are in seventh heaven as we announce the installation of a brand new interpretive exhibition at St Nicholas’ Chapel<\/a>, King’s Lynn, with the Churches Conservation Trust<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our exhibition is the icing on the cake of a \u00a32.7m restoration project,\u00a0supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and local fundraising efforts. The Chapel is now an open space for the community, and includes state-of-the-art visitor facilities and solar panels providing sustainable energy for the venue.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our interpretive exhibition is designed to complement the Chapel’s regular activities, such as concerts, events and workshops, but grab the attention of the Chapel’s varied audiences, from regular visitors through to families and young children. The result is an attractive, modern design that reflects the Chapel’s rejuvenation, and seamlessly blends into the space.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A permanent exhibition space explores the fascinating and unique history of the Chapel. It includes craftsmanship, particularly that of the Chapel’s extraordinary angel roof, music and song, and its position as the ‘seafaring Chapel’ and consequential relationship with trade. An animated timeline investigates the Chapel through the exciting events of its past, and is also illustrated on two church kneelers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imagination is our medium of choice elsewhere in the Chapel, as our Consistory Court game simulates past events, encouraging players to act as judges and criminals. Younger visitors are invited to step into the shoes of their predecessors with a dressing-up box.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Throughout our interpretation, the Chapel’s magnificent roof angels guide visitors around the space. With our mirror carts, the angels are brought a bit closer to us, as visitors can gaze into the reflection to see the roof in all its restored glory.<\/p>\n

\nSt Nicholas’ Chapel is open Monday-Saturday 11am-3pm. From Monday 2nd November, opening times are Tuesday and Saturday 11am-3pm.<\/p>\n
