Titled <em>We Are Northampton<\/em>, it is a celebration of the town and its people showcasing newly commissioned portraits and objects from the extensive museum collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"620\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uglystudios.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/WAN_news_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uglystudios.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/WAN_news_3.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.uglystudios.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/WAN_news_3-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><figcaption>Riding a carnival bike &#8211; Photo: Kelly Cooper Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally scheduled to open in 2020, like many projects, it was put on hold by Covid restrictions. Visitors can log onto it using their own mobile phones and play it together, whilst remaining completely socially distanced. It&#8217;s proving a big hit with the public, especially as it features the classic 1980s pop song <em>Energy in Northampton<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We Are Northampton<\/em> is on until January 2022, so there is still time to go and see it, and to enjoy the fantastic new cafe and gallery spaces at the new-look Northampton Museum and Art Gallery while you are there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northampton Museum and Art Gallery has opened its doors to the public again after a \u00a36.7 Million building project that originally started in 2017.
