Repton’s Red Book Revealed
Hurrah! The video we made to complement the Humphry Repton Exhibition at Sheringham Park is now online!
Commissioned by National Trust and Nottingham University, the video details Repton’s proposals for Sheringham Park made to Abbot and Charlotte Upcher in 1812, written in his own hand in the form of one of his ‘Red Books’ – so named for the type of binding used – which set him apart from other landscape gardeners of the time. The original exhibition showcased research into the 200-year history of Sheringham Park in Norfolk and its creator.
