Norwich HEART win EU Prize for Cultural Heritage

Congratulations to Norwich HEART! Our friends over at the City Guildhall were awarded the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Award in Vienna on Monday for their Shaping 24 project.

Shaping 24 beat 160 projects from 30 countries to the prestigious prize in the Education, Training and Awareness category. The pioneering cultural heritage project linked the historic Norwich 12 to 12 heritage sites in Ghent, Belgium. Promoting the Norwich 12 buildings – the UK’s finest collection of individually outstanding heritage buildings spanning the Norman, Medieval, Georgian, Victorian and modern eras – has involved events such as Culture Matters in November 2012, guidebooks, and the Heritage City smartphone app.

We’re delighted for them and loved being involved. As part of the project we designed HistOracle, an interactive touch-screen game available to the public in The Forum, Norwich.

Also part of Shaping 24, in conjunction with our pals at Neontribe, we designed and developed n-Explore, HEART’s online hidden-object game which explores the development of Norwich over the past 1,000 years. Give it a try here!
