Fun for the under Fives.

We are excited to announce the launch of another project. The Mouse House, a gallery for early years visitors to The Great North Museum: Hancock has opened its doors for Autumn Half Term 2021 after a complete re-fit.

Ugly Studios came up with a fresh design which gives families an introduction to all of the different galleries and collections in the museum in a fun and playful way.

We filled the gallery with colourful graphics, child friendly interactives and introduced two friendly mouse characters, Albany and Mary, to guide the young visitors around the collection.

A big 'mouse hole' shape is cut into the displays for young visitors to explore through.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Tyne and Wear museums and with the fabricators, Unusual Projects to bring this project to life. We encourage anyone in the area to go and visit this fantastic place, and if you have a young family why not introduce them to Albany and Mary and let them guide you round the Mouse House and the wider Museum.
